What will I learn in this Thai Massage Course ...
The course will cover the Practical and Theoretical training in the art of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage following the VTCT Level 3 syllabus as well as meeting the stringent requirements of our accreditted Thai Tutor. This will be done through formal lectures, practical classes and home assignments. As a CPD student, you will not be required to take the Anatomy &Physiology units of this course.

  • Some of the topics covered in this course are:
  • Thai Massage Theory & Practice
  • A practical and theoretical training in the art of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage where you will learn the complete traditional set of Thai Massage in the Front, Side, Back and Sitting positions
  • Dozens of different and exciting positions, each one with diagrams, photographs and descriptions
  • Stretching, Mobilizations and Deep pressure techniques to release muscle tension and improve flexibility
  • All relevant muscle and skeletal A&P
  • A background to Thai Medicine and SEN theory
  • Safe practice techniques
  • Pressure points for each area of technique
  • Stretching - how to work with key muscle reflexes

All techniques are on a futon/floor mattress with light-weight clothing required to allow for flexible movement.
A bibliography for other recommended reading is discussed in the first class.

ASSIGNMENTS & EXAMS

An assessment of your practical skills will be made during your practical training. A record of assessment book will show details of this and all practical assignments as they are completed. Soon after starting your practical training you will be encouraged to practise your sports massage skills on family and friends and to record your findings on all treatments carried out.

  • A practical Thai Massage examination lasting 1 hours (this will be recorded for the External VTCT Examiner viewing)
  • In class assessments
  • Written assignments
  • Completion of case studies - 5 x clients, minimum 2 x treatments each
